Ukraine, Russia fail to agree on gas transit in Paris

At the Normandy format summit in Paris, Ukraine and Russia have failed to agree on the conclusion of a new agreement on Russian gas transit to Europe from January 1, 2020.

“This concerns the relations between Gazprom and the Ukrainian gas transmission system operator. But this is the subject of negotiations in bilateral and trilateral formats,” Executive Officer of Naftogaz Group Yuriy Vitrenko said, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The agreement between the economic entities of Ukraine and Russia on terms of transportation of Russian gas to Europe via the Ukrainian territory expires on December 31, 2019. The parties are currently in talks to sign a new agreement.
