Ukraine and Russia not yet agreed on volumes of gas transit - Orzhel

Ukraine and Russia have not yet reached an agreement on the volumes of gas transit, as technical discussions are still being held.

Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel stated this at a press conference on December 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Work is currently being held on two agreements: an interconnector agreement and an agreement on transportation. This is a preliminary step to make final decisions on volumes, terms or compensation; we must clearly work out all the technical points. The technical processes are quite active.  The parties are holding technical consultations, we will soon turn to essential issues," the minister said.

Orzhel also said that the trilateral talks “are not easy, but at some stage they are constructive”.
