Ukraine's government sacks Energoatom head

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to dismiss Chairman of the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom Yuriy Nedashkovsky on the initiative of Energy and Environmental Protection Minister Oleksiy Orzhel.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksandr Honcharuk said this at a briefing following a government meeting on Wednesday.

"A respective government decision has been made. It was the initiative of Energy Minister Oleksiy Orzhel," Honcharuk said.

Reports on the initiative to dismiss Nedashkovsky were published in social media on November 26. Energoatom spokesperson Ilona Zayets also confirmed the information.
