Zelensky denies reports about intentions to return banks to ex-owners

President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the new government will not return banks to their former owners.

He stated this at the first investment forum RE:THINK. Invest in Ukraine in Mariupol on Tuesday, October 29, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I want to address everyone who spreads rumors that someone from the president's team or the new government is going to return banks to their former owners - no, that's not true," Zelensky said.

He recalled that about 100 banks were withdrawn from the market, including Delta Bank, Nadra Bank, Finance and Credit Bank, adding that PrivatBank was nationalized.

“In each of these cases, I will protect only the interests of the state of Ukraine, the interests of every Ukrainian. All these problems should not be solved at the expense of taxpayers,” Zelensky stressed.
