Minister Mylovanov forecasts economic growth of up to 4.8% in 2020

Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Minister of Ukraine Tymofiy Mylovanov believes it is quite possible to achieve 4.8% economic growth in 2020 if the government program is implemented and the business climate is improved.

“The World Bank’s growth rate forecast of 3.7% is in line with that of the Economic Development Ministry. We also have a more optimistic scenario of 4.8% provided that the government program is implemented successfully and the business climate in Ukraine changes for the better,” Mylovanov wrote on Facebook, commenting on improved World Bank forecast of Ukraine’s economic growth for 2020 from 3% to 3.7%.

According to him, it is necessary to work on creating conditions for protection of property rights, liberalization of markets, judicial reform, to ensure the high-quality work of law enforcement agencies, and to pull oligarchs and stakeholders away from the government and politicians.
