Ukraine’s underground gas reserves reach seven-year high – Naftogaz

Ukraine’s gas reserves in underground storage facilities have already reached 19.5 billion cubic meters.

The spokeswoman for NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Aliona Osmolovska, said this during a round table in Kyiv on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We already have 19.5 billion cubic meters [of gas], even more. We are likely to exceed the target level of 20 billion cubic meters. This is the highest level of storage reserves over the past seven years,” she said.

She clarified that gas reserves in underground storage facilities amounted to 19.5 billion cubic meters, which is 4 billion cubic meters more than in the same period last year.

As reported, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine plans to accumulate about 20 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure the stable heating season of 2019-2020.
