Gas transit through Ukraine grows 2 percent since year-start - Ukrtransgaz

Since the start of 2019, volumes of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine have grown by 2%, up to 59.5 billion cubic meters, the press service of JSC Ukrtransgaz has reported.

"Since the beginning of the year, the volumes of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine from the Russian Federation to the European countries and Moldova have reached 59.5 billion cubic meters. Compared to the relevant period in 2018, the transit volumes grew by 1.3 billion cubic meters, or by 2%," reads the report.

Also, the company provided data on gas supplies to the Ukrainian consumers. Thus, since the start of the year, 16.7 billion cubic meters of gas has been transported through the main gas pipelines, which is 8% less than in 2018.

As Ukrinform reported, the current gas transit contract between Ukraine’s Naftogaz and Russia’s Gazprom expires on December 31, 2019.
