Ukraine establishing customs cooperation with China and Poland

Chairman of Ukraine's State Customs Service Maksym Nefyodov has met with representatives of the Polish and Chinese customs services and discussed further cooperation.

"I want to tell you about an area of international cooperation 'New Customs.' What is of primary interest to us is an audit of the border with our Polish colleagues and the work on upgrading the infrastructure and new border crossing points, the exchange of customs information (for understanding, the Chinese responded only to nine requests over a year), the creation of a mechanism for voluntary warning of customs violations, accession to the memorandum on a China-Slovakia freight train that would greatly unload the western border," he wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.

He noted that his Polish and Chinese colleagues had a positive attitude to these issues.

"There remains the easiest thing - to go out and do it. Why it was not done before is a big question. There were concrete examples of mistakes and possible sabotage on our part. Therefore, we will gradually restore confidence," Nefyodov said.
