World Bank Group president to visit Ukraine

The new president of the World Bank Group will visit Ukraine to discuss economic reforms, according to the press service of the World Bank in Ukraine.

"World Bank Group President David Malpass will arrive in Kyiv on Thursday, August 22, 2019 for a two-day visit. This will be Mr. Malpass’ first trip to Ukraine since he became President of the World Bank Group on April 9, 2019," the report says.

Mr. Malpass will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, August 23. He also plans to meet with the finance minister, the governor of the National Bank, mayors, MPs, representatives of the banking and private sectors, and farmers.

During the visit, Mr. Malpass will discuss Ukraine’s plans for economic reforms aimed at boosting growth and creating more jobs and better opportunities for the Ukrainian people.
