Govt ready to assist Israeli investors in implementing projects in Ukraine – Groysman

Ukraine is a powerful partner of the State of Israel, and the Ukrainian Government is ready to fully contribute to the implementation of Israeli projects in our country.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this during a meeting with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in Kyiv on Tuesday, the Government portal reported.

The sides noted that Israel had invested more than USD 50 million in the Ukrainian economy, and the free trade agreement between our countries would open up new opportunities for the effective realization of the existing potential in trade and investment cooperation, especially in the sector of IT and new technologies.

"We expect that the Israeli side will exert efforts to complete its internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of the agreement," Groysman stressed.

As known, over six months of 2019, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Israel exceeded USD 445 million. The key export items were cereals, oils, metals, wood. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the introduction of a full free trade area will facilitate, among other things, agricultural exports from Ukraine to Israel.
