Ukraine actually introduces free trade regime with Israel – Groysman

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that there will be more visits to Ukraine in the future.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said this during a meeting with Ukrainian companies with the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This is the first visit of the head of the Israeli government to Ukraine over the past 20 years. When we met, he said that there would be more such visits, and they would happen on a more frequent basis. I am glad that our two governments managed to finalize the work on free trade area," Groysman said.

He noted that FTA opened up new possibilities.

“Remember 2011. There were discussions on a visa-free regime with Israel. Then it was hard to imagine that this could be real. And now we are actually launching a free trade area, and we are talking about expanding FTA to services, co-investment mechanisms, etc," Groysman noted.

He recalled that the free trade agreement would be ratified in September, but business representatives could begin to establish bilateral relations today.

"That is why I urge our business communities to increase their trade turnover. Our synergy is in the agriculture sector, engineering, innovation. We can use our opportunities and experience to be stronger together," the prime minister stressed.
