Sumy region completes harvesting early grain crops

Sumy region has completed harvesting of early grain and leguminous crops, according to the Agricultural and Industrial Development Department of the Sumy Regional State Administration.

“Early harvesting of grain and leguminous crops has been completed in Sumy region. All categories of farms in the region gathered 1.192 million tonnes of grain, with an average yield of 45.5 centners per hectare,” reads the report.

In particular, farmers of the region harvested 905 tonnes of winter wheat, threshed 19.6 thousand tonnes of spring wheat, 8.2 thousand tonnes of winter barley, 195 thousand tonnes of spring barley, 16.6 thousand tonnes of winter rye, 15.6 thousand tonnes of peas, 31, 7 thousand tonnes of oats.

Also, 41.4 thousand tonnes of rapeseed were threshed with an average yield of 29.5 centners per hectare, including winter rapeseed totaling 39.7 thousand tonnes with an average yield of 30.2 centners per hectare, and spring rapeseed totaling 1.6 thousand tonnes with an average yield of 18 centners per hectare.
