Investment activity boosts GDP growth by 4.6% in Q2

Ukraine's real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 4.6% in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of last year due to the preservation of investment activity.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine on its Facebook page.

"The Ukrainian economy is growing at an accelerated pace. In the second quarter of 2019, Ukraine's GDP grew by 4.6%," the report says.

The Ministry notes that the main growth factors were the preservation of investment activity, which contributed to the development of construction, in particular, at industrial production and transport infrastructure facilities, and the intensification of activities in the metallurgy industry and agriculture.

According to experts, further GDP growth is expected in the third quarter of 2019.

As Ukrinform reported, the real GDP of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 increased by 2.5%.
