Pork imports to Ukraine exceed exports by ten times in Jan-July

Ukraine imported 13,500 tonnes of pork for $25.71 million in the first seven months of 2019, the State Fiscal Service has reported.

Pork imports to Ukraine over the period exceeded exports in monetary terms by ten times, according to the report.

The largest pork supplier with a share of 48.46% was Poland, followed by Germany (19.79%) and the Netherlands (10.24%). In 2015-2018, the leader in terms of pork supplies to Ukraine was Germany.

In January-July 2019, Ukraine exported 1,100 tonnes of pork for $2.65 million.

The largest buyer of Ukrainian pork was Vietnam (41.99%), followed by the United Arab Emirates (31.99%) and Hong Kong (15.47%).

In January-April 2019, pork imports to Ukraine exceeded exports by 19 times.
