Ukraine is interested in attracting Japan's investment and advanced innovations to implement joint projects in the field of the development of digital economy.

This issue was discussed at a meeting between Mykhailo Fedorov, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Japanese business representatives at the invitation of Japan's Ambassador to Ukraine Takashi Kurai, the press service of the head of state reported.

"Electronic services, improving the operation of state registers, the project 'electronic residence' should make doing business in Ukraine easy and transparent. We are very interested in attracting investment and advanced innovations of Japan for the development of joint projects in the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, smart cities, electronic identification, development of R&D centers, etc," Fedorov said.

He stressed that the development of the digital economy is a priority for the Ukrainian president and expressed confidence that only the digitalization of the economic sectors could help Ukraine make progress and achieve real economic growth.

According to him, together with business and the public, clear tasks and goals for the development of the digital economy until 2024 have been set.

Japanese business representatives, in turn, focused on problems facing business in Ukraine, such as the complexity of interaction with tax and migration services, hiring workers, etc.
