Ukraine wants to cooperate with IMF and make reforms with new parliament – NBU

Ukraine is determined to continue cooperation with the IMF and to implement structural reforms with a new parliament.

The press service of the National Bank of Ukraine reported this on its Facebook page following the meeting of NBU Governor Yakiv Smoliy with IMF First Deputy Managing Director David Lipton in Toronto.

"Ukraine intends to continue to cooperate with the IMF and carry out structural reforms incorporated in the current cooperation program with a new parliament. In particular, energy sector and land market reforms," the report says.

Also, one of the key outcomes of the meeting is the forthcoming negotiations with the IMF on a new program of cooperation.

"We expect the IMF delegation to visit Kyiv to reach a working agreement on a new program - after the formation of a new government," the NBU said.
