Ukraine's deputy foreign minister, U.S. delegation discuss energy cooperation

Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister for European Integration Olena Zerkal has met with a U.S. delegation to discuss cooperation in the energy sector, in particular the supply and transportation of energy resources, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

Zerkal had a meeting with a U.S. delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Energy Resources in the Department of State Kent Logsdon.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues of Ukrainian-American cooperation in the energy sector, the strengthening of Ukraine's energy security, including the response to external challenges, the continuation of the Ukrainian energy sector reform, and the improvement of Ukrainian legislation in the context of the implementation of the European integration course of the state, the report said.

According to the ministry, particular attention was paid to regional issues related to the supply and transportation of energy resources.

Zerkal expressed gratitude for consistent and principled support for Ukraine from the United States.

The parties stressed their determination to further strengthen Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership, particularly in the energy sector.
