Ukraine, Switzerland establish cooperation on energy development and investment projects

Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhiy Savchuk as a member of the Ukrainian official delegation to Switzerland took part in the discussion on new economic opportunities for partnership of the two countries.

Bilateral negotiations took place during the following events: the round table "Ukraine 2019: New Economic Horizons, New Business Opportunities" in Zurich and 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-Swiss Joint Committee in Bern, the Government portal reported.

The partnership between the two countries is promising, because the Swiss economy is one of the most powerful in the world.

Moreover, Switzerland has achievements in the "clean" energy sector. In particular, in 2016 the share of "green" energy in the primary supply of the country amounted to 22%, and the goal by 2020 is 24%.

Savchuk emphasized that Ukraine had also created favorable legislation and market conditions for the development of "green" energy and energy efficiency. As a result, over the past five years, a sum worth EUR 2.7 billion was invested in this sector.

It is important that Switzerland already cooperates with Ukraine, in particular, in bioenergy projects.
