Tymoshenko gives Zelensky draft decrees to reduce gas tariffs

Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has handed over to President Volodymyr Zelensky's team a package of draft decrees that will help reduce natural gas tariffs in Ukraine.

She said this at a press conference on Friday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We advised the new president how to act. We handed over to him, through the head of the Presidential Administration, draft decrees imposing a veto on a resolution of the government led by [Prime Minister Volodymyr] Groysman regarding an illegal and unjustified increase in gas prices for people. It takes one day to issue decrees and stop the unfair setting of gas prices for people," Tymoshenko said.

According to her, Batkivshchyna also handed over draft decrees on the appointment of new members of the National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) by the president.

"We believe that if the president takes these two steps and delegates his people to the NCER, who will work for the benefit of people, not for the sake of bribes, then the president will be able to resolve tariff issues within a few weeks," the politician said.
