Vice PM Kubiv: Development of intellectual property is driver of Ukrainian innovations

The reform of the intellectual property field is a guarantee of positive changes in the development of Ukrainian innovations, startups and digitalisation.

First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv made a corresponding statement at the opening of the National Intellectual Property Forum, organized jointly with the World Intellectual Property Organization, the press service of the Economic Development Ministry reports.

"Further reform of the intellectual property field is key to positive changes in the development of Ukrainian innovations, startups, and digitalisation. It is necessary to consolidate the powers for the development of the digital economy among the functions of the Economic Development Ministry at the legislative level. To do this, we need to reduce the non-specific functions of some central authorities and optimize the work of parliamentary committees, which should include an effective committee on digital economy," Kubiv said.

As noted, support for innovation is crucial as it is key to the formation of innovative economy and generation of added value by Ukrainian innovative producers.
