PM Groysman: Minimum wage can be increased at least twofold in two years

The economic growth will provide an opportunity to increase the minimum wage in Ukraine at least twofold.

“I wish every employed person had an opportunity to come to a store and buy what they need. I have managed to raise the minimum wage from $50 up to $150. We can reach a minimum wage of $300 in the next two years. I know what steps should be taken further,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on the air of ICTV channel, the Government portal reports.

He stressed that a printing press is not the government’s scenario. “Only the plan that I have been implementing for several years. No printing presses. Only the economy through bringing the economy out of shadows and attracting investments,” Groysman added.

Currently, a monthly minimum wage in Ukraine is UAH 4,173.
