Economy ministry revokes licenses of three Ukrainian tour operators

Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has revoked the licenses of three Ukrainian tour operators due to the non-fulfillment of license terms.

Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade Mykhailo Titarchuk wrote this on his Facebook page.

"The Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine conducted 13 inspections, three of which were unscheduled. They showed that only four tour operators faithfully fulfilled the established license terms," Titarchuk wrote.

He added that seven other operators fulfilled the conditions partially and were ordered to eliminate violations related to the lack of necessary experience in the field of tourism from branch managers, the absence of statistical reports and the lack of updated data (regarding bank guarantees, branch closures, new insurance contracts) in a licensing authority.

According to Titarchuk, three Ukrainian tour operators – Hot Tours Agency Network Ltd, Lucky-Tour and Dionis-Prague-Ukraine – had their licenses revoked.

On May 22, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted changes to the license terms for tour operator activities, according to which in order to obtain a license a tour operator must provide financial guarantees to tourists. The government also ordered Ukrainian tour operators to provide information about travel agents they work with.
