Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan has said that a new airport that will be built in the village of Solone, Dnipropetrovsk region, is expected to handle 2-3 million passengers per year.

"This year we have launched the designing and preparing works for the construction of the airport in Solone, which is just in the middle between Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro. We believe that this airport will become a hub for eastern Ukraine... We can get the airport with a capacity of at least 2-3 million passengers per year within the next five years," he said on the Priamyi TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
