UNICEF offers EUR 5 mln project for territorial communities in eastern Ukraine

UNICEF proposes to launch a new project on the development of a system of integrated social services in the united territorial communities of eastern Ukraine. The project’s budget is EUR 5 million.

“A meeting of First Deputy Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Yevhen Vilinsky with the delegation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative Office in Ukraine was held in the Donetsk Regional State Administration. The parties discussed the launch of a new UNICEF project in eastern Ukraine dedicated to the development of a system of integrated social services in the united territorial communities of the region... The amount of funding is EUR 5 million,” the information and internal policy department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration reports.

As noted, the program is aimed at creating integrated services for families with children, young people and internally displaced persons, in particular, the vulnerable categories of the population. The integrated model involves the joint work of various departments and social services and allows the system to work smoothly, which is especially important when providing services at the local level.

The project will be implemented in 12 towns and united territorial communities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions within two years (2019-2020) and will cover about 100,000 people.
