Government approves decision obliging Naftogaz to lower gas price for population
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision obliging NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine to lower the gas price for population to UAH 8.38 per cubic meter.
Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated this at a government meeting on Wednesday, April 3, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"There is the resolution on gas prices. As you know, Naftogaz stated that they could sell gas at a price lower than UAH 8.55 per cubic meter. I fully support this. The lower the price the better," said Groysman.
According to him, Naftogaz can set gas prices not higher than UAH 8.55 per cubic meter.
“Minister [of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor] Nasalyk, I ask you to inform Naftogaz about this decision. I instruct NJSC [Naftogaz of Ukraine] to start selling gas at lower prices from April 1, according to the letter they sent to the government," Groysman added.
