Nineteen solar power plants operate in Khmelnytsky region

Some 19 solar power plants with a total capacity of 55 MW operate in Khmelnytsky region.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Khmelnytsky region, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"There are 19 solar power plants with a total capacity of 55 MW in the territory of Khmelnytsky region," Poroshenko said.

In addition, according to the president, a bioheat power plant with a capacity of 45 MW was opened in Kamianets-Podilskyi at the expense of the World Bank. This is the first bioheat power plant in Ukraine, the third in Europe and the fifth one in the world.

At the same time, the president noted that 36 solar power plants with a total capacity of more than 370 MW would be to put into operation in Khmelnytsky region during 2019-2020 thanks to investments worth USD 350 million.
