Ukraine receives over EUR 500 million loan under IBRD guarantee

Ukraine raised a loan of EUR 529 million under the guarantee of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), according to the website of the Finance Ministry.

On February 28, 2019, Ukraine raised a EUR 529 million loan arranged and provided by Deutsche Bank under the Policy Based Guarantee from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

Deutsche Bank provided the EUR 529 million loan to Ukraine in the form of two tranches: tranche A amounting to EUR 240 million and 4 years maturity and tranche B totaling EUR 289 million and 10 years maturity.

Under this loan the remaining part of the guarantee of the total amount of USD 750 million under the World Bank’s Policy Based Guarantee was used.

As reported, on December 8, 2018, the World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved the decision on granting Ukraine a loan guarantee in the amount of USD 750 million. On December 27, Ukraine received the first tranche under the World Bank guarantees totaling EUR 349.3 million.
