Kirovohrad region has unique opportunities for investments — president

Kirovohrad region has unique opportunities for attracting investments in new projects in various sectors.

President Petro Poroshenko said this during a speech at the Regional Development Council, the press service of the head of state reported.

"Kirovohrad region today has unique opportunities for the modernization of existing production and construction within the industrial parks, which will combine educational, scientific and production capacities together with land lot and network," Poroshenko said.

According to him, a unique logistics and geographical position of the region is attractive to investors.

The president noted the region as a powerful competitive agro-industrial region with great potential for growth in this area.

The head of state stressed that Kirovohrad region also had significant prospects for the use of alternative energy sources, development of "green" energy.

"The first steps have already been taken. There are already 31 solar power stations in the region, their total capacity is up to 70 MW. By 2020 we plan to put into operation another 18 power plants with capacity up to 200 MW," Poroshenko said.

The president emphasized the importance of developing regional tourism, in particular, "green" tourism in Kirovohrad region.
