Vice PM Kistion: Ukrainian energy sector becomes predictable for investors

Ukrainian energy sector has become predictable for Ukrainian business and foreign investors.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion made a corresponding statement at the 10th Ukrainian Energy Forum, the press service of the Vice Prime Minister reports.

In particular, Kistion noted that the new energy policy of Ukraine created predictable working conditions for both Ukrainian and foreign business.

According to him, the changes introduced over the past five years in all the areas of life of Ukraine became the foundation of the new state.

"Due to a number of important reforms and deregulation decisions of the Government, which have improved the business environment significantly, Ukraine's level of attractiveness in the world has grown considerably," Kistion said.

The Vice Prime Minister recalled that Ukraine systematically implemented three large-scale energy reforms: of gas market, electricity and coal industry.

"The new energy policy of the country, which is defined by the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, is underpinned by rather ambitious goals. We set ourselves the task of halving the energy intensity of the economy, increasing our own energy production, making the country energy independent, and developing green energy," the official said.

He added that the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency program and the increase in own gas production will ensure Ukraine’s energy security.
