Prime minister lays out priorities of cooperation between Ukraine and EU

The development of border infrastructure, the implementation of effective customs policy in the scope of increasing transit and improving procedures, unimpeded access of Ukrainian goods to the EU market and the integration of digital space are all the priorities of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this commenting on the results of the roundtable "Effective implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union as the essential element of European integration of Ukraine", which was held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with the participation of Speaker of the Parliament Andriy Parubiy, former president of the European Parliament Pat Cox, MPs, government officials and diplomats, the Government portal reported.

"It is critical for us to provide infrastructure integration, to combine customs procedures - and in this issue, the customs reform, which we have triggered, should give a response. Further, it is necessary to ratify the agreements and ensure free access of Ukrainian goods to the EU market," Groysman stressed.

He reminded that all these decisions were part of the Roadmap for the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as a package of necessary regulations, which the Government and the Parliament prioritized.

"In relations with the EU, we need infrastructure integration and procedural integration," the prime minister added.

As known, the EU is Ukraine's largest trading partner, accounting for more than 42%.
