Odesa airport reconstruction to be completed by end of 2019 - Omelyan

The reconstruction of the Odesa International Airport will be completed by the end of 2019, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has said.

He said this at a press conference on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"This year, following the allocation of UAH 767 million, it is planned to complete the entire complex of works and the commissioning of this facility [the Odesa airport]. We will try to make it happen in the second half of this year, but we have to be realistic, so it will be done by the end of this year," Omelyan said.

According to him, UAH 922 million was allocated for the reconstruction of the airport between December 2017 and January 2019.

In addition, the minister said, a billion hryvnias will be earmarked this year for the reconstruction of the first stage of the Vinnytsia airport.
