Ukraine boosts exports of goods to EU

In 2018, the export of Ukrainian products grew the most to the EU countries - by 15.5%; therefore, the share of the EU in total exports of goods increased to 37.6%.

"In 2018, the export of Ukrainian products grew the most to the EU countries - by 15.5%. Therefore, the share of EU in total exports of goods increased to 37.6% (against 35.6% in 2017). At the same time, the share of Asian countries declined from 32.4% to 31.5%, the share of Russia - from 8.5% to 7.0%," the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine reports.

In general, the exports of goods increased by 9.2% up to $43.3 billion last year. The sale of food products to foreign countries increased by 4.8%, primarily due to the large grain crop - the total value of grain deliveries grew by 11.4%. The exports of ferrous and nonferrous metals increased by 15.3% owing to a favorable price environment.

The import of goods into Ukraine grew by 14.0% up to $56.3 billion in 2018.
