Sumy region’s gas consumption fell by 6.2% in 2018

The volume of natural gas consumption in Sumy region fell by 6.2% in 2018, according to the press service of PJSC Sumygaz.

"In 2018, Sumy region consumed 733.2 million cubic meters of gas, which is 48.2 million cubic meters, or 6.2%, less compared to 2017. Since 2011, the annual volume of blue fuel distributed among consumer groups has decreased by almost 36%," the press service reported.

In particular, the consumption of natural gas by households decreased by 7.1%, industry - by 2.7%, and municipal heat supplying companies - by 12.5%.

The decrease in natural gas distribution volumes was due to the reduction in subsidies provided to household consumers, as well as the change in natural gas price, the company’s press service added.
