Ukraine-Israel FTA to come into effect after ratification by parliaments – Kubiv

A free trade agreement between Ukraine and Israel will come into effect after the ratification by parliaments of the both countries.

First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv stated this at a government meeting on January 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The free trade agreement must be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada and the Knesset of the State of Israel, two months after the exchange of diplomatic notes on the completion of the ratification procedure, the agreement will come into force. Therefore, I would like to call on all members of government to hold a dialog with MPs and stress the need for the rapid ratification of the agreement. Israel's market means tens of billions of dollars, it's a market that awaits Ukrainian goods," said Kubiv

As reported, Ukraine's First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Israel's Minister of Economy and Industry Eli Cohen signed a free trade agreement between the two countries on January 21, 2019.
