Ukraine started exporting 251 new commodity items to Israel in 2018

In January-November 2018, 251 new commodity items were added to the list of exports from Ukraine to Israel, which brought additional $6.5 million to Ukraine.

First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv stated this at a government meeting on January 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Israel is showing great interest in Ukrainian products. And for 11 months of 2018, our exports to Israel was replenished with 251 new commodity items, they brought us an additional $6.5 million in export earnings. The growth even reached 222% on some items,” said Kubiv.

He noted that the government in the Export Strategy of Ukraine identified Israel as one of the 20 most promising markets for the export of Ukrainian products.

"We already have fairly strong trade ties for incomplete three years. The volume of bilateral trade has exceeded $2 billion. We export more than import, a positive balance totals at least $ 300 million,” said Kubiv.

As reported, Ukraine's First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Israel's Minister of Economy and Industry Eli Cohen signed a free trade agreement between the two countries on January 21, 2019.
