Poroshenko: Economic growth in 2019 expected to reach eight-year high

President Petro Poroshenko has said that Ukraine’s economic growth in 2019 is expected to reach about 3.4% of GDP, which is the highest in eight years.

“We hope that this year economic growth will be within 3.4% - this is a record figure for 8 years. But it’s only the beginning of implementation and results of the reforms being carried out in Ukraine. This makes Ukraine attractive for investors. Therefore, we have risen from the 153rd to the 71st place in the Doing Business ranking. And this is exactly what European and global companies notice," Poroshenko said during a meeting with residents of Zdolbuniv in Rivne region, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to the President, a meeting with members of the investment council, companies investing in Ukraine will be held in Davos soon.

“The total capitalization of these companies makes up $1 trillion. They have come to declare their determination to continue investing in Ukraine,” said Poroshenko.
