Russia reduced gas transit through Ukrainian GTS by 7.2% in 2018

In 2018, the volume of gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system (GTS) amounted to 86.8 billion cubic meters, which is 7.2% less compared to 2017.

Ukrinform learnt this from the press service of JSC Ukrtransgaz.

"In 2018, the volume of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine from the Russian Federation to the EU countries and Moldova amounted to 86.8 billion cubic meters, which is 6.7 billion cubic meters or 7.2% less than the volume of gas transit in the record 2017," the report says.

However, Ukraine has not been importing natural gas from the Russian Federation for 1,134 days. Ukraine continues to transit gas from Russia to Europe.

Ukraine refused to purchase Russian gas in late November 2015.
