More than UAH 30 bln to be allocated for regional development in 2019 – Zubko

The State Budget for 2019 provides for more than UAH 30 billion in state financial support for the development of regions.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko informed this on his Facebook page.

The state budget for 2019 envisages the allocation of UAH 7.7 billion for the State Regional Development Fund. The funds will be spent on the development of a New Educational Space at schools and kindergartens, the construction and reconstruction of healthcare, social, cultural and sports infrastructure. A mandatory condition for the implementation of projects is the allocation of 10% of funds for sports facilities, 10% - for energy efficient measures for educational and health institutions, as well as UAH 0.5 billion – for the implementation of the winning projects of the All-Ukrainian Public Budget.

According to the vice prime minister, UAH 0.5 billion will be allocated to the regions within the EU program to support the sectoral policy of Ukraine. The state budget provides for UAH 2.1 billion in subvention for the formation of infrastructure of the united territorial communities; UAH 1.0 billion in subvention for the implementation of measures aimed at the development of the health care system in rural areas.

As reported, on November 23, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the bill on Ukraine's state budget for 2019. On December 7, President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on Ukraine's state budget for 2019.

The document stipulates that GDP growth will amount to 3% in 2019, with inflation projected at 7.4%. The minimum wage will increase to UAH 4,172 from January 1, 2019, and the living wage will grow to UAH 1,936 from July 1, 2019 and to UAH 2,027 from December 1, 2019.
