Energy Efficiency cooperation: Ukraine, Norway developing memorandum

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving intends to sign a memorandum of understanding in the sphere of energy efficiency with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).

The press service of the State Agency reported this with reference to Agency’s Head Serhiy Savchuk.

“Despite the wide horizon of cooperation with Norway, we are considering the possibility of concluding a memorandum of understanding with NORAD in the spheres of energy efficiency and renewable energy,” said Savchuk.

The State Agency intends to expand partnership with Norway during the Ukrainian-Norwegian business forum, which is scheduled to be held in January 2019.

Savchuk said that the agency is counting on attracting Norwegian investments into green energy projects, developing joint mechanisms to stimulate the development of green energy and the ESCO mechanism, as well as using Norway’s experience and technology to develop liquid biofuels production.
