Ukrzaliznytsia plans to use EBRD funds to modernize 6,000 freight wagons – Kravtsov

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia plans to modernize almost 6,000 freight wagons at the expense of the EBRD loan funds in 1.5-2 years.

Acting Board Chairman of Ukraine's state railways operator JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov said this during the forum "New Industrialization: Joint Actions of Government and Business,” an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"In the next 1.5-2 years, we plan to upgrade almost 6,000 freight wagons at the expense of the EBRD's credit funds," Kravtsov said.

He said that during the period from September 2017 to September 2018 JSC Ukrzaliznytsia built more than 3,500 freight wagons; and this is the largest annual figure for the last eight years.

Kravtsov stressed that JSC Ukrzaliznytsia’s steps on large-scale modernization of freight wagons had revived domestic machine building.
