EU believes that Ukraine will achieve all economic goals – Mingarelli

The European Union believes that Ukraine will achieve all goals aimed at economic development.

Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said this at the forum "New Industrialization: Joint Actions of Government and Business,” an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Crucial reforms have been made. We are deeply convinced that Ukraine will achieve all goals aimed at the development of its economy. First of all, over the past four years, Ukraine's key tasks, both in the political and economic sectors, were fulfilled. We see that Ukraine has a well-educated population, many sectors of the economy are quite competitive, and the society is the main driver of reforms. Given these factors, we believe in the economic success of Ukraine," he said.

Mingarelli noted that the Association Agreement was the basis for cooperation between Ukraine and the EU; the agreement provided for the integration of Ukraine into the EU. In recent years, the bilateral cooperation has been deepened. "Four years ago, the volume of Ukrainian exports to the EU countries was 25%, while last year this figure was 42%, indicating the rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU," he said.
