Ukraine, Uzbekistan to resume work of joint commission for comprehensive cooperation

Ukraine’s First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv has held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

"The important tools for establishing better trade and economic dialogue between Ukraine and Uzbekistan include the resumption of the work of the Joint Ukrainian-Uzbek Commission for Comprehensive Cooperation and the early holding of the next meeting of the Commission to jointly discuss the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries," Kubiv said, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine reported.

The prime minister of Uzbekistan supported the importance of resuming the work of the Commission and assured of the absence of restrictions and the resolution of problematic aspects of mutual deliveries of goods to the markets of Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The officials of both countries focused on discussing the issues of ensuring mutual access of goods to the markets of Ukraine and Uzbekistan, and spoke about the importance of forming predictable trade relations between the countries.

As reported, Uzbekistan, a major importer of Ukrainian white sugar, suspended imports from the country.
