Japan's largest payment system interested in Ukrainian market – NBU

JCB, the largest payment system in Japan and one of the five largest payment systems in the world, is interested in entering the Ukrainian market.

The press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported this on Facebook following the meeting of NBU Chairman Yakiv Smoliy, his First Deputy Kateryna Rozhkova and his Deputy Serhiy Kholod, and Takashi Suetsugu, the General Director of JCB International (Eurasia) LLC.

“JCB, the largest payment system in Japan and one of the five largest payment systems in the world in terms of the number of issued payment cards and the volume of transactions in payment for goods and services, is interested in entering the Ukrainian market,” the report reads.

Takashi Suetsugu stated that JCB was interested in entering the Ukrainian market and intended to submit a corresponding package of documents to the NBU in the near future.

In turn, Smoliy welcomed the intention of JCB to work in Ukraine, stressing that the National Bank stands for a competitive environment in the payment market and unified regulations for all participants.
