US sanctions against Russia open new opportunities for Ukroboronprom in Southeast Asia

The state concern Ukroboronprom received new opportunities in Southeast Asia due the US sanctions against buyers of weapons from Russia, the press service of the concern reports.

“Indonesia is an important partner of Ukroboronprom. We have serious achievements in a number of areas that have potential for successful bilateral projects. Our prospects in the Southeast Asian region, in particular in Indonesia, are significantly growing, due to the transformation of this market as a result of American sanctions against buyers of Russian weapons, which is stipulated by the current US Law on "Countering America's Adversaries through Sanctions Act" (CAATSA)," said Director General of Ukroboronprom Pavlo Bukin.

According to the concern's website, Ukraine is able to meet the demand of the region’s countries for the supply of certain types of armaments, as well as the maintenance, repair and modernization of available military equipment. In particular, Ukroboronprom is ready to offer its partners in Indonesia joint projects in the aviation, armored, shipbuilding industries and high precision weapons. The Ukrainian defense industry is adapted to the Indonesian market and military technology, the state concern added.
