Erdogan: Ukraine, Turkey to sign free trade agreement by year’s end

Turkey and Ukraine agreed to sign the free trade agreement by the year’s end.

"At this meeting [the 7th meeting of the strategic council] today we decided to complete the work on signing of the free trade agreement by the year’s end. We believe that we will be able to achieve our goal - balance of trade at $10 billion - thanks to this agreement," President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the press conference upon the strategic council’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He pointed out that Turkey developed the relations with Ukraine at the level of strategic partnership and underscored the importance of the reform process in Ukraine for the entire region.

“We follow the process of reforms in Ukraine. Not only Ukraine but also all the countries of the region will benefit from success in this process,” Erdogan said.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko made the official visit to Turkey on November 3-4.
