Ukraine International Airlines reports on rise in passenger traffic

Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) carried over 6 million passengers in January-September 2018, which is 15% higher compared to the corresponding period last year.

This is stated in the company’s press release, which is available to Ukrinform.

“In January - September 2018, Ukraine International Airlines increased traffic by nearly 15% compared to the corresponding period of 2017, carrying more than 6 million passengers. The share of transfer passengers on UIA’s scheduled flights was 54%,” reads the report.

Over the reporting period, UIA operated 46,708 flights, which is 7.5% more than in 2017. At the same time, the load factor increased by 0.6% up to 81.5%.

UIA also informed on a rise in mail and cargo traffic, which grew by 17.4% to 17,646 tonnes.

Since the beginning of 2018, UIA within the fleet renewal and extension program received another seven aircraft: three long haul Boeing 777-200ER and four modern Boeing 737-800 planes, three of which arrived directly from the manufacturer’s facilities in Seattle.
