Law simplifying regulatory requirements for wind power plant construction comes into force

The Law of Ukraine “On amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine on the investment attractiveness of the construction of renewable energy facilities” came into force on October 4.

The law was published in the parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrainy on October 3, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, the law amends certain norms of legislation to stimulate the development of renewable energy such as the production of electricity from wind energy.

Also, the law allows that wind power plants during the construction be classified as CC1 objects (that have little impact on the environment), which will ease the procedure for acceptance into operation of such objects.

Previously, wind power plants belonged to the category СС2 (medium impact).

As reported, the law was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on September 4, 2018. The President signed the document on October 2.
