Ukraine’s local budgets receive additional UAH 28 bln – Zubko

In January-August 2018, the local budgets of Ukraine received an additional UAH 28 billion as part of the decentralization reform.

Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko said this during the forum of local self-government in Ternopil on September 24, the Government portal reported.

"The reform of decentralization is the country's top priority today, and it really shows good results. I give you only one example - an additional UAH 28 billion in revenues to local budgets for January-August 2018, and people need to know and understand how they are spent. Ukrainians should receive new services of high quality," Zubko stressed.

According to him, a key mechanism for the successful decentralization reform is transparency both in the activities of service organizations and local authorities.
