Ukraine’s Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories initiates sanctions against chemical producers in Crimea

Ukraine’s Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons initiates the imposition of sanctions on the companies involved in production and sale of chemical products from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"The Ministry has prepared proposals on the imposition of sanctions on a number of legal entities, which contribute to the production of chemical products on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea in violation of the effective legislation of Ukraine and which sell these products on the territory of other countries," the Ministry’s statement reads.

As the experts note, the chemical products are manufactured in violation of the established legal regime of the temporarily occupied territories and using illegally extracted subsoil resources that belong exclusively to Ukraine, in particular, natural gas and water from underground sources. Manufacturing of such products threatens life and health of Ukrainian citizens on both government-controlled and occupied territories.

It is proposed to impose sanctions on the following companies: Letan Investments Limited (Cyprus), LLC Titanaktiv (Russia), Center for Optimal Technologies (Russia), Okhna Holdings Limited (Cyprus), LLC Khimkomsnab (Russia), Tolexis Enterprises AG (Switzerland).

"The imposition of sanctions on all the involved legal entities will make economic relations with Ukraine impossible and will allow restricting or terminating economic relations with the EU countries," the statement reads.
