Verkhovna Rada ratifies agreement on funding Danube transnational programme

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed the law on ratification of the agreement on funding the Danube transnational programme.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reports, 246 Ukrainian lawmakers voted in favor of the corresponding bill No. 0196.

Ratification of the agreement will create legal grounds for funding projects with the participation of Ukrainian partners to the tune of EUR 5 million within the framework of the Danube transnational programme as a financial instrument of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region.

The measures to be taken during the implementation of the programme include the implementation of cross-border cooperation projects aimed at social and economic development of Ukrainian part of the Danube region, which will contribute to the fulfillment of commitments defined by the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

The agreement on funding the Danube transnational programme was signed on December 7-8, 2017 in Brussels and on December 15, 2017 in Budapest.
